Great for starting fires but the scent isn’t as good as it was in the past. Used to be a woodsy, Smokey, pine needle aroma ... so wonderful ! Still effective to light fires, though.

I love these! Ordered the first time to support a fundraiser and thought I’d give a try. Reordered because I loved them. No longer need to use paper to start a fire and they have a pleasant fragrance. Will continue to order these for our fireplace.

Build a normal fire, without paper. Set the candle in the middle, voila, fire. The only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5 is beacuse of the price. It was the cheapest I could find, but was $5 more than I paid a year ago. I habe used them for several years and the work great

We use these to start our fireplace in the winter. If we let one burn for a few minutes before adding kindling, it helps prevent the initial smoke that results from a very cold flue.

These are billed as being fire starters. Not all of them worked like that. A few just burned as regular candles
