12 x 28mm scale hard plastic miniatures from Victrix. Assembly required and supplied unpainted. Manufacturer's Description This is a 12 piece miniature set with float options and fantastic details. The Numidians come from North Africa, around modern Tunisia and Morocco. They were excellent light cavalry and brought large amounts of horsemen to their close neighbors the Carthaginians. Numidian cavalry distinguished in skirmishing, hit and run tactics. They would shower their enemy with spearfire and run away to avoid contact and then again to propel the enemy with even more rockets. They were often used as scouts and in battles would overflank the enemy and wait in ambush. They fought brilliantly for Hannibal during the Second Punic Wars, were important factors in his Romans defeats at Trebia, Trasimene and Cannae, and were also responsible for beating the Romans in Spain at the battles of Castulo and Ilorici under their charismatic and brilliant Chieftan Masinissa. In the last Roman battle against Hannibal at Zama, some Numidians under Masanissa changed the sides and fought for the Romans who defeated their fellow Numidians under the leadership of the ancient king Syphax. The Numidians helped swing the current of battle to the Romans. Numidian cavalry fought as an aid to Rome for many hundreds of years, they fought for Caesar and can look very similar in evidence on Trajan's column to those during the Punic Wars.

Tracking & Notifications
