Green tea is considered a superfood, as matcha consumes the whole leaf, the powder contains several times higher nutrient content than other types of tea.
High-quality matcha powder can be recognised by colour, smell and taste.
Matcha powder contains caffeine in bound form. It is therefore not absorbed in the stomach, but only in the intestine, so the effect unfolds slower but long-lasting.
How do you actually make matcha latte?
Put 1-2 bamboo spoons of matcha in a bowl, pour over the powder with approx. 50 ml of water and stir it into a thick matcha cream
Add 100 ml 80 °C warm water to the cream and stir it with a bamboo broom until the tea becomes frothy
Foams in another container add 50-100 ml of milk (like oat or almond milk) and place them in a larger bowl
Pour over the frothed milk with the creamy matcha tea
