Also known as the original, Patrol Officer Pocket Trauma Kit, this IFAK has a relevant back story, but is by no means limited to Law Enforcement. This is a thoughtfully designed IFAK that is great for anyone who wants to be prepared with tools to stop major bleeding. The story began while attending the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Conference in San Marcos, TX. We visited with a number of different department members who stated they were keenly aware of the need for all officers to have some sort of Self Aid / Buddy Aid kit when entering the hot zone. However, current department cutbacks (at the time) made it cost prohibitive to look at even the most basic trauma kits that Rescue Essentials offers for individual patrol officers. We went to work with the team to come up with an affordable IFAK in order to solve this problem. After three rounds of modifications based on input from NTOA members who tested the kit, we offered the Patrol Officer Pocket Trauma Kit (POPTK), or for everyone, the Pocket Trauma Kit. This Kit includes: 1 SWAT-T Tourniquet 1 Z-Pak Gauze Dressing, Z-Folded 1 Pair Nitrile Gloves 1 3 ft Duct Tape The SWAT-T is a cost efficient and effective tourniquet, especially in a buddy aid situation. When combined with the Z-Pack dressing that can be packed into a penetrating injury, the SWAT-T does double duty as a very impressive compression bandage, and duct tape provides the ability to hold dressings or even improvised chest seals. These items come vacuum packed and can be easily and quickly removed, allowing rapid treatment. From a Law Enforcement Agency perspective, This IFAK is designed to outfit a 100 man department with individual trauma kits for less than $2000! It is no longer necessary to send officers into the hot zone without the simplest of tools to save their life, or the life of their fellow officer. Tracking & Notifications
