Together with this mineral it is essential to also take Vitamin D, which contributes to its normal absorption and use. Natural Defenses When trying to get pregnant it is important to keep your immune system healthy. Vitamin C, Copper and Zinc are essential nutrients that contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress but also important nutrients to support the normal function of the immune system. Blood glucose levels During pregnancy, some women experience an increase in blood glucose levels; in particular, the placenta produces hormones that support the growth of the fetus, but these can also reduce the maternal body's ability to use glucose.
