Obsidian is a natural glass that forms when molten lava cools so quickly that atoms are unable to group themselves into a crystalline structure. Obsidian is typically a jet-black color. The presence of hematite (iron oxide) produces red and brown varieties, such as this stone called Mahogany Obsidian. It is found all around the world wherever there is volcanic activity and is typically easy to mine as it is close to the surface. This particular lot of Mahogany Obsidian originates from Afganistan.
Mahogany Obsidian is considered a rock and not a mineral as it is created by various minerals. It has been used by some of the earliest hominids for crafting weapons, tools and ornaments.
Black Obsidian is believed to be a powerful grounding stone for the Root Chakra, absorbing and dispelling fear, criticism, and anger and transforming it into white light energy. Mahogany Obsidian is said to be a softer energy with the same grounding elements, but it allows us to see ourselves in a gentler, positive light.

Tracking & Notifications
Every order is fully trackable. You will receive a tracking number via email once your order ships. If your order ships in multiple packages, each package will have its own tracking number. If you don’t receive a shipping confirmation immediately, your order is still being processed and will arrive within the estimated timeframe shown at checkout.

Order Changes & Cancellations
If you need to modify or cancel an order, please contact our customer support team as soon as possible. Orders can only be canceled before they ship. Once shipped, cancellations are not possible, but you may request a return after the item is delivered.
