The aquarium grid board is a versatile tool commonly used in aquariums. Its interlocking and cuttable properties combined with the safe plastic material make it suitable for a variety of aquarium applications.
1. As an aquarium divider - By using suction cup holders, the plastic grid board can be securely attached to the glass walls of the aquarium, creating separate sections. This is ideal for mixed species tanks or for emergency isolation of sick fish.
Note: The grid size is 1cm, which means small fish can swim through the grid board, so that a complete separation is not achieved. Besides, due to the strength of the suction cups and the grid connections, it is not suitable for insulating large fish.
2. As a cover or bounce protection: when used with aquarium wall brackets, the plastic grid board can be fixed over the aquarium to prevent fish from jumping out and protect the aquatic creatures from pets such as cats.
Note:
- Choose the right brackets to achieve a high mounting strength. Different brackets may vary in handling.
- Pay attention to the size and type of fish. Very large or very small fish may not be suitable.
- Use large, uncut grid pieces to minimize the number of connection points, which ensures better connection force. Too many connections can cause the middle sections to sag.
3. As a soil protection for aquascaping: in extreme cases, we may use large rocks or unusually shaped driftwood for aquascaping, which could be a strain on the bottom of the aquarium. Using the grid board as a base layer can effectively protect the bottom of the aquarium, prevent scratches and distribute the weight evenly. The plastic material is very safe, and we highly recommend this method.
4. As a filter material separator: standard filter systems usually have their own compartments, but the grid board provides another option for DIY enthusiasts and professional aquarists. To ensure clean water, we often use several types of filter materials. The separator can keep different materials separately, which makes cleaning and reuse easier. We highly recommend this approach.
5. Use Your Imagination The grid board has many potential uses, be it in aquaristics or other areas such as reptile habitats. It can be used to create turtle sun terraces, pump protection compartments and first superstructures for external aquarium landscapes.
Important Notes:
- Handle it carefully and wear gloves as the edges may be sharp.
- Keep out of reach of children when not in use.
- Not suitable for aquariums with bottom-living fish as they could be injured.
