1.To test the grounding performance with a multimeter, you must test with the resistance setting of 200kOhms or higher
2.This is because there is a 100kOhm resistance in the cable, which is standard on earthing mats
3.Place one probe on the mat, and one on the plug, when the cable is attached to the mat, it should read out 100kOhms, showing the electrical connection
4.The diode/open connection setting will show no result, due to the resistance, however this does not mean there isn't an electrical connection
