Why Use A Primer?

Primers help to hide large pores and fine lines. Primers are used under foundation. Primers help with how your foundation goes on. Ideally they make the skin look smooth. If you have light skin they can be used all by their selves. 

  I have used the primer for the entire weekend and have really enjoyed it. My skin is very sensitive and breaks out easily. I was nervous at first and didn't have high hopes. I honestly expected to wake up the next morning with a face full of pimples. I am happy to report no break outs the entire weekend. My makeup went on smoothly and looked great. Why Use Our Primer?

Price: Most primers are extremely expensive. It's not uncommon to see them charge $30 to $50 for a 1/2 ounce. Ours is $19.99 for 1ounces. We even saw one 1/2 ounce primer for $75. It had gold particles in it. Not sure why?

Quality: If you look at their ingredients you will see a wealth of long unpronounceable ingredients. And a lot of silicones. We use the finest ingredients. We use fast absorbing ingredients which leaves the silica in it's proper place.

How Do Primers Work?

Silica is used to hide wrinkles and pores. Plus they improve 'slip'. Which helps makeup go on easier.

So why is ours better?

We use Silica Microspheres. 5 micron size particles. Smaller is better when it comes to filling pores and fine lines. Most of the others use just silica. Larger is cheaper. Plus we use Virgin Coconut Oil and Hyaluronic acid. It's just a superior formulation to everything else on the market. 

How exactly does this work?

Because of the spherical shape of the Silica Microspheres they scatter light and blur the look of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Which is the secret to a smooth skin.

We had customers asking us for a primer. So we looked at what was on the market and just couldn't believe the prices. Primers are basically moisturizers with silica. And they weren't even using high quality silica. I couldn't believe it. We have been testing our formula. It is excellent.

 Update to my email below....first day of Primer use....normally my mineral makeup starts to deteriorate and break up after 4 hours on my combination dry/oily t-zone skin. This morning I washed my face with my Carley's Soap, used Carley's Herbal Toner, lightly used one of my Carley's moisturizers  and after a few minutes of that being soaked in I applied the Primer and finished with Carley's Mineral Makeup and Finishing Powder. I had my make up on for 12 hours and it was 80-90% in tact vs.it falling apart at 4 hours. After 12 hours I had VERY minor oil breakthrough in my t-zone and where my makeup usually settles into my deep facial lines it was almost exactly like it was when I left the house for work. I would say IT WORKS!!! In my "dry skin" zone, which is most of my face - my make up almost looked like I had just applied it. For the record, I never touch up or re-apply my makeup during my work day....EXCELLENT RESULTS! Kathy

Ingredients:

Reverse Osmosis purified water: virtually all skin care products 'say' they use purified water. But the real deal is reverse osmosis purified water. This mean ZERO contaminants which means the starting point is pure. It's expensive to do (goes through 5 filters, which have to be changed often), but it is the only water we use. We use the waste water from this purifying process to water our flowers and landscaping. So there is no waste. Don't some products use distilled water? Yes but distilled water is environmentally expensive to make (heat is used to boil the dirty water and stream is collected). The problem we have with distilled water is it has a lower pH due to the extra ions added during the process. We prefer to work with pH neutral water. To me there is no more perfect water than R-O water. I remember the 1st time we made soap with it. As we poured the soap is was so creamy! It looked like home made ice cream right before it gets solid. It's one of our special secrets to how good our products are. Again, no one does this.

Virgin Coconut Oil. Also known as Extra Virgin Coconut oil. From Fiji. You'll notice a very slight coconut scent. No other added scent or fragrance.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum: 6%. Hyaluronic Acid is a special protein occurring naturally throughout the human body, and is one of the most heavily researched substances in medicine today with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the fields of orthopedics and eye surgery. Its function in the body is, among other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness makes it an excellent moisturizer, which is why it has earned a place in skin-care products and cosmetics. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most hydrophilic molecules in nature and as such it is aptly described as "nature's moisturizer". The trouble with this ingredient is how difficult it is to work with. It absolutely has to be mixed in under 100 degrees F or is destroyed. This means most skin care products that claim to have Hyaluronic acid, don't.

Silica Microspheres: A very high end ingredient. 5 Microns size particles.

Emulsifying wax: This is a vegetable wax that is used to combine the oils and water.

Stearic acid: is not an acid, but another vegetable wax. Adds creaminess.

Germall Plus (4/10’s of 1%) (diazolidinyl Urea, 3-Iodo-2-propylbutylcarbarmate) (a vegetable derived preservative to keep our product fresh) only needs 4/10's of one percent to keep our product safe. Look before you ask, no totally natural preservative really protects products from bacteria. We don't like using Parabens. and since we pH balance our moisturizers we are limited in our choice of preservatives. What's great about this one is so little is needed to afford protection.

Ultra Marine Violet (77007). Violet color helps counteract that tired skin look.

So why are we different?

pH neutral: And why is this important? Although we use ingredients that have an acid pH, the finished moisturizer is pH neutral, like all of our moisturizers. We believe the skin is actually stressed by acids. Virtually all moisturizers on the market are acid. We wondered why? If acids are so good for the skin as these products claim, why does it feel so good to take a swim in the ocean? Ocean water pH is very much the opposite of acid. Slightly alkaline. Why is it recommended to keep swimming pool water slightly alkaline? There is a whole line of thinking now that promotes alkalines. We believe the skin and all of nature loves alkaline and hates acids. If the ocean were to all of a sudden become slightly acid, mostly it would be a dead body of water. Forget this nonsense of the 'acid mantle'. Our bodies when healthy, are pH neutral to slightly alkaline.
