The ground annatto seeds are a popular way to colour food naturally without chemical additives. It is also very popular to give fish, poultry or even beans a pleasant touch. Known is that the cheddar gets its delicious colour through these seeds. The colouring powder comes from the seeds of the Orleans shrub (botanical name: Bixa orellana). The plant has its origin in the Caribbean and in the tropical areas of South America, but is also grown in Southeast Asia and is also referred to as the name of the plant. The yellowish or orange colour can also be achieved with other plants. A similar colour can be obtained by using saffron, but with its indescribable smell, this is significantly more than just a means of colouring food. RECIPE: How about a delicious cream-paprika chicken! 3 protions.
