Mylar bags are used for long term food storage because the metal barrier protects food from moisture, light and oxygen. Air cannot get in or out of a properly sealed mylar bag. Oxygen Absorbers designed to remove unwanted oxygen inside a packaged environment. Removing the oxygen protects dry food from developing insects or growing mold or fungi. Oxygen absorbers are safe and easy to use with food products such as dried meats, baked goods, dried spices, bulk foods and other foodstuffs.
