TiO2 is a common ingredient that is a micronised white pigment based on a titanium dioxide rutile. The ultra-white colour, the property of diffusing light and the high UV resistance led to the pigments being used in countless products of daily use.
It is considered the brightest and whitest pigment in colour making, which is at the same time non-toxic and non-reactive. With a melting point of 1843°C and a boiling point of 2972°C, it is insoluble in water as a natural solid and in particle form.
The high refractive index of titanium dioxide means that it can scatter visible light as a pigment. This leads to a high coverage of colours and a reflective and bright colour quality when used on surfaces as well as when mixed with other materials. Thanks to its high coverage, TFC Troll Factory titanium dioxide powder impresses with its particularly economical use.
