INSTRUCTIONS ON THE USE OF YOUR MAC MINI HUB WHEN THE EXTERNAL M.2 NVMe OR THE COMPUTER ENTER INTO A SLEEP MODE:
1. EXTERNAL M.2 NVMe IN A SLEEP MODE:
If the computer (Mac Mini/Macbook or other Laptop/Desktop) is under usage and the external M.2 NVMe is not at read/write mode, the M.2 NVMe will enter the sleep mode. (To enter the sleep mode the Intel version of the MacBook takes 3 minutes; The MacBook Air with the M1 chip takes 1.5 to 2 minutes; The Mac Mini 2020 with the M1 chip takes 12 minutes; Intel's Mac Mini 2018 takes 13 minutes)
2. COMPUTER IN SLEEP MODE:
A. FOR LESS than 2 -3 HOURS:
If the computer is under sleep mode for less than 2 -3 hours, the NVMe SSD will also enter the sleep mode and stop rotating in about 30 seconds (this for all platforms: Mac OS, Windows). The M.2 NVMe will not be disconnected within 2-3 hours after the computer enter sleep mode. The M.2 NVMe can be read when the computer wakes up
B. FOR MORE than 2 -3 HOURS:
When the computer enters in sleep mode for more than 2-3 hours, the M.2 NVMe and HUB will be automatically disconnected automatically. When the computer wakes up the M.2 NVMe and hub may be still disconnected, in this case we recommended to unplug and plug the HUB manually to ensure that the HUB can be reconnected
If you don't want your MAC MINI HUB andM.2 NVMe to be disconnected, please set the computer not to enter sleep mode
