GM Chevy Chevrolet Buick Gear Shift to Park Error Fix Repair Micro Switch Transmission
GM models automatic transmission gear shifter intermittently are not shifting into gear when depressing the brake or when it is not shift out of park. When micro switch is worn out, it causes intermittently bad connection to the shift control circuit that is affecting the shift inter locking function. GM dealership wants over $750 for the repair!
[ PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PART LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME AS LISTED HERE ]
Please make sure that your park switch matches the switch I am selling since GM used a couple of different designs over the years. No refund if you order wrong part.
Our solution is replacing only one micro switch "Repair Kit" instead of buying an expensive complete assembly from the dealer, or you could get a used part eventually having the same problem.
GENUINE GM Smallest sealed snap-action switch in the industry with a very long stroke for reliable ON/OFF action. This Is Genuine Made in JAPAN NOT Aftermarket Chinese Replacement Item.
It’s an issue with a microswitch, to remedy the issue you can replace the microswitch now (some dealerships replace the whole assembly for $1K). While the shifter problem won’t stop you from driving the automobile, it will probably block you from shutting it down. Therefore, do not delay the repair. You never know when you might be stranded inside the vehicle, without a safe way to turn it off, lock and leave.
The primary cause is that corrosion or other material builds up on the park
switch contacts. It prevents the Body Control Module (BCM) from electronically
sensing that the vehicle is in the park position. Thus, the BCM prevents the
ignition from turning off. It keeps happening until and unless you fix the
shift to park message.
Sometimes, wiggling the shifter lever and changing the transmission positions a
few times works. However, this is only a temporary solution.
Park indicator not working? The switch that activates it wears with repeated use, causing battery drain when the cluster fails to go into its sleep mode. This GENUINE GM microswitch replaces the original without changing the shifter assembly.
· Cost-effective solution - this microswitch replaces the worn-out original without having to replace the shifter assembly
· Prevents damage - delaying this replacement will cause the instrument cluster to remain on at all times and weaken the battery
· Easy installation - requires splicing into original harness with included connectors
· Quality engineering - designed in the Japan and backed by decades of automotive aftermarket experience
· Condition: 100% new OEM Made in JAPAN
· Material: Plastic & Metal
