GDSTIME EC Axial fans feature an Electronic Commutation (EC) design, run on high efficiency brushless DC motors which are driven directly from an AC power supply. This design allows GDSTIME EC Fans to have a smaller footprint and lower power consumption than standard AC-powered Axial fans. Power consumption is reduced by approximately 80% compared with our conventional AC fans and shade pole motors.

The high energy efficiency of the EC fan motor comes from the reduction in energy consumption. EC fans are more efficient than AC fans. An EC fan uses 75% to 80% less power than an equivalent AC fan solution by converting an AC signal into a DC output.
