The real comfrey is a medicinal plant that is native to the European region. For centuries it has been used in herbal medicine for wound regeneration. Today you know that comfrey contains a lot of allantoin in addition to mucous substances. CristinenMoor Comfrey Balm is rich in comfrey, but also devil's claw and horse chestnut extract. As a cosmetic product, it is part of the wellness product line of Starbene products - a balm for feeling good for back, legs, knees, shoulders, hips.
Real comfrey - regenerated
Comfrey is one of the plants that thrive and spread without much care and despite adverse conditions. There are 20 - 40 comfrey species (symphytum) in Europe, in CristinenMoor comfrey balm an extract of the real comfrey - Symphytum Officinale - is included. The name of this medicinal plant comes from its application. Comfrey derived from intergrowth - used for open wounds and bone fractures, but also for injuries to the tendons and ligaments, bruises, strains, etc. The ingredient allantoin, which is comparatively present in a high proportion, leads to accelerate cell build-up and cell regeneration.
Devil's claw - at rheumatism
The South African devil's claw - Harpagophytum procumbens - not to be confused with the native genus Phyteuma, is native to the Kalahari desert of South Africa and Namibias and comes from wild collection. The woody fruits with the grappling hooks give the plant the name, harpago - enterhook. To obtain the extracts, their roots are dried and processed. The anti-inflammatory and weak pain-relieving properties are used for joint pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, skin problems.
Mountain pine oil - 100% natural, essential
The pine oil is inserted into the pine needles, it stimulates blood circulation in the skin and helps to loosen tight muscles. This effect can also have a positive effect on joint pain and back pain.
Horse chestnut - as strong as a rose
Seeds, bark, leaves and flowers are utilised and extracts are produced. The substance Aescin as an extraction substance has vessel-enhancing, anti-coagulating, anti-inflammatory properties. Horse chestnut contains, as well as comfrey, allantoin, but in a lower percentage.
