- Bernese Rose: The tomato ‘Bernese Rose’ is an old Swiss tomato cultivar with a heavenly taste. Typical are the soft pink fruits of different sizes, because they vary between salad and meat tomato sizes weighing 100–300 g.
For us, this tomato variety is one of the best ever. - Green zebra: The tomato ‘Green Zebra’ is one of the classics among the old tomato varieties. In the past, green varieties were often grown due to their robustness and fruity taste.
- Black tomato ‘Black Russian’: This Russian black tomato is aromatic and rather spicy in taste.
- Pineapple: The pineapple tomato is an old variety from the USA. The orange low-seed fruits are very large and can be cut into juicy slices for sandwiches. The sweet fruity aroma is exceptional.
- Yellow Ruffled: A very old tomato variety whose history probably dates back to the 17th century. The large, heavily ribbed golden yellow fruits are hollow inside and are therefore good for filling.
In general, the best sowing time for tomato seeds is a good 6–8 weeks before the last expected night frosts in spring. Optimum germination temperature: 24–28°C, plenty of light, always keep soil moist. We therefore recommend a mini greenhouse for sowing.
