Is beta-alanine bioavailable and does it arrive in the muscle? Yes, there are active beta-alanine transporters of the human organism from the blood stream to the muscles. In the muscles, the body can produce carnosine with beta-alanine and histidine. Carnosine cannot get directly into the muscle and therefore the beta-alanine intake is particularly useful to increase the carnosine content in the muscle. Consumption: adults take 1 level measuring spoon (corresponds to approx. 5 g) with plenty of liquid before a workout. It is advisable to take beta-alanine with a small dose of approx. 1 g and within approx. 1-2 weeks to increase to the maximum dosage of 5 g.
Note: If taken or overdosed, there may be a slight tingling or itching on the skin.
