The roots contain various alkaloids such as Anaferin, Anahygrin, Cuscohygrin, Nicotine, Tropin and Withasomnin.
It is a nightshade plant and is found in Africa, Asia and the Mediterranean. The flower and its root are among the frequently used plant extracts due to their versatile use and very good compatibility.
