Up for your consideration is this lot of 50 Giant Arrowhead seeds. The species is Sagittaria montevidensis. These are the REAL THING. Grown and harvested by me in my hobby greenhouse here in Illinois. These are rarely offered to the hobbyist and the supply is limited. You will receive a few more seeds than are shown in the photo. Sagittaria montevidensis bears some of the most beautiful flowers of any aquatic plant... featuring large white flowers with 3 maroon spots in the center of each one. In my opinion the common name of Giant Arrowhead is a little misleading. The plants do not grow any taller than the more common arrowhead, Sagittaria latifolia, although the leaves may get a little larger. It is also sometimes called Aztec Arrowhead. Sagittaria montevidensis plants are not that difficult to grow from seed but the seeds do require a cold/moist period in a refrigerator of at least 30 days in order to germinate. Please plan ahead and order early to account for the cold treatment. This is explained in detail in the included instructions. They also should be grown in emersed conditions (roots in moist soil, leaves in the air) which is also explained in detail in the instructions that are included. You will receive 50 genuine Sagittaria montevidensis seeds and growing instructions with each order. Orders for three or less seed packets will be shipped in a regular stamped envelope with no tracking. I ship them this way to keep the costs down for you. I will ship orders for 4 or more total packages of seeds in a USPS First Class package with tracking... so if you want tracking please order 4 or more packets of seeds (they can be the same or different varieties).
