With the traditional Hworost shape (rosette iron), you can conjure up delicious, crispy rosettes, also known as classic Hworost or Swedish rosettes in no time. This high quality kitchen tool is made from durable, food grade metal and is specially designed to create fine, artful pastries that are not only delicious, but also beautiful to look at.
Instructions for using the rosette iron.Prepare dough: mix the dough according to the recipe below. The dough should be smooth and thin to spread evenly on the mould.
Heat oil: fill a pot or deep pan with oil and heat it to about 180°C. The oil should be hot enough for the dough to turn golden brown quickly without splashing too much.
Dip the rosette shape: dip the rosette iron in the hot oil to heat up. Then dip immediately into the prepared dough - but do not immerse completely so that the rosette can easily detach from the mould.
Frying: hold the Hworost mould with the dough directly into the hot oil. Fry the rose until golden brown and crispy (approx. 30-60 seconds). Gently shake off the rosette from the mould.
Drain: Place the finished rosette on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
Serving: sprinkle the warm rosettes with powdered sugar or cinnamon as desired.
Recipe for classic Hworost/Swedish rosettesIngredients:
- 2 eggs.
- 250 ml milk.
- 2 tablespoons sugar.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar.
- 1 pinch of salt.
- 150 g flour.
