This 40/60 Amp 3 Pole Definite Purpose Contactor is an electromagnetic switching device that controls the electrical flow to high‑power HVAC components such as compressors, condenser fans, and heat pump loads. When the thermostat calls for cooling or heating, the low‑voltage coil energizes and pulls the main contacts closed, delivering line voltage to the compressor and fan. When the call ends, the coil de‑energizes and the contacts open, safely cutting off power.
