How to Use:
A. 485 wiring notes:
1. 485 communicating line must be shielded twisted pair, preferably with multiple spare strands, and the total length is recommended not to exceed 1500 meters.
2. The wiring should be as far away as possible from the high voltage power lines, not in parallel with the power lines, and not bundled together.
3. 485 bus must be a hand in hand bus structure, firmly eliminate the star connection and bifurcation connection.
4. More than 30 controllers or line longer than 500 meters, it is recommended that the 485 repeater must be used.
5. AC powered equipment and chassis must be real grounded, and well grounded.
6. Connect the GND ground of all 485 devices with shielded wire.
B. communicating using RS485 bus wire selection requirements:
Use 2-core shielded twisted pair wire
Copper, wire diameter 0.5 - 0.75 square millimeters.
Impedance 38 - 88 ohms / km.
Capacitive resistance of 30 to 50 nF/km.
Stranding distance of 20 mm of 2 core shielded twisted pair (if the distance of the line does not exceed 500 meters can be appropriately reduced line standards, but must be twisted pair)
C. Bus limits:
Composed of two or more devices with physical connection to each other, a maximum of 256 devices are allowed to be hooked up on the bus, and the bus length is no more than 1500 meters without adding repeaters. The system bus should not have branches, and if branches are unavoidable, the following requirements must be met:
1. the branch length is no more than 10 meters; the sum of the bus length is no more than 800 meters; the total number of devices on the branch line is recommended to be no more than 50.
2. All communicating signal lines should be as far away from the source of interference as possible, signal lines should go to the weak well, not with strong power (such as 220 volt residential power) or RF signal lines (such as CATV, large signal audio lines) parallel lines, if parallel lines, the distance should be greater than 0.5 meters.
3. All line joints must be welded or doweled tight connection, and waterproof treatment, for example, the butt welded with waterproof tape or epoxy resin sealing treatment.
D. Signal common ground:
1. All devices on the same net segment must have a unified signal ground to avoid common mode interference.
2. centralized power supply, all the power supply on the same net segment (including communicating equipment with their own power) of the negative DC terminal directly connected together to form a common signal ground, the signal ground is the DC power ground.
3. When a single independent power supply, the ground (black line) pins of all bus devices on the same net segment are connected together, thus forming a common signal ground.
